All week long at the Miami Herald, there had been a tremendous buildup to the big event. There had been meetings, phone calls, more meetings. I was a year-old summer intern at the Herald, between my undergraduate and master's years at Northwestern, and sports editor Paul Anger assigned me to write a sidebar on the visiting team. That required going into the locker room to interview the players after the game. The NFL still had no policy about women reporters being allowed to go into men's locker rooms; some were open, some were not, based on the whim of the team. The Vikings' locker room was going to be open that night.
The naked truth about locker room interviews
Do women go completely naked in gym locker room as men do? - Quora
Since I watched hockey as a kid, it was always this way. Industrial-size hampers, home to growing mounds of moist practice jerseys, sit on each side of the cramped chamber in its Syosset, New York, training facility. Players tear off equipment at wooden cubbies bearing their names and numbers, laughing about how Mel Gibson got ribbed at the Golden Globes. A collage on the walls above them shows newspaper headlines and media coverage of famous victories, ringing the small dressing room like a halo. The media circus surrounding professional sports is fed in part by this particularly odd sort of press access. Team dressing rooms are typically open to journalists before or after practices and games.

They deal with being nude, and nobody is OK with it! I do understand that you are going to have to get naked at some point in the locker room. Taking a shower, or changing into different clothes requires nudity, and I get that. We all know this happens with both men's and women's locker rooms - the super-nudist who doesn't care they don't look good naked. Those are the ones who strip down as soon as they step a foot into the locker room, and stay naked until they've walked every square inch of the room.
